Our Design Process

NOSTALGIA YOU CAN FEEL AND WEAR

Design Process

Inspired by the love of music, every TLR piece starts with a CD and ends with timeless jewelry. First design sketches become 3D drawings, then the 3D drawings are formed into wax molds for adequate sizing. Once the aesthetic is approved by our Creative Director, it’s off to production. A CD can become an earring in less than 3 months.

OUR JEWELRY IS CREATED WITH PASSION

We curate TLR collections from sketch to shipment. Repurposed CDs are transformed with a resin-based mold to solidify that multicolor sparkle. Items with raw facing CDs are cut into various shapes using a C02 laser cutter in a specialized setting. Our jewelry is the reflection of innovative minds pioneering design techniques for materials that have never been used in the jewelry making process. We are constantly experimenting with new methods to upcycle our CDs and blend them with the finest materials like 18 Karat Gold, Sterling Silver, and Swarovski crystals to provide you with the highest quality jewelry.

COLLABORATION SPARKS CREATIVITY

Here at TLR we are driven by the desire to bring you the most innovative and artistic designs available. We believe that through collaborating with various designers our jewelry will remain fresh and inventive. For our first collection we worked with designer Kelly Dempsey from Project Runway Season 14 to design every piece. Kelly’s extensive use of unconventional materials and our Creative Director’s design overview resulted in a groundbreaking and beautiful jewelry collection.
